A small farmer named Suresh Yadav of Mudparvillage has adopted a Vermin Compost Pit in his homestead farm yard and farming an area of about one acre by applying Vermin Compost. Initially, he has done vegetables farming by applying chemical fertilizers. After preparation of vermin compost, he has applied vermin compost in the vegetables farming by which the size of the vegetables grows in more sizes and looks attractive. Due to the good size and fresh look of his product he is selling at Rs.5 to Rs.10 in the market. In his farmyard he is farming brinjls, bottle guard, bitter guard, spinj guard, ladyfinger, sesquipedalis of two varieties, gonguard, along with custard apple, banana, lemon, guava, papaya, cocoanuts, drumstick, yam, elephant foot yam, anvela, and many more type of vegetables. His annual income from his farm yard now grows up to one lakh in a year. He has 12 members in his family with three sons and three sons-in-law. All the adult member of his family is engaged in agriculture activities. He is applying vermin compost only in his farm yard and planning to make the big size vermin compost pit for more production and to apply in his 5 acres of farmland.
The most important things has found that he is preserving seeds with traditional preserving process from his farm product and have no dependency on market for seed procurement. He has constructed a pucca house recently and saying his farmyard became a bank for his family and now all of them in his family are happy.
