Gramin Vikas Trust (GVT) is guided by a simple yet powerful belief: development is meaningful only when it restores dignity, strengthens communities, and empowers people to shape their own futures. Established in 1999 with the support of KRIBHCO, the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, and DFID (UK), GVT has spent over two decades working closely with underserved and marginalized communities across India, grounded in empathy, integrity, and long-term commitment.

Across 26 states, 400+ districts, and more than 1 lakh villages, GVT’s work has touched the lives of 27 lakh+ people through 500+ development projects. However, the true measure of impact goes far beyond numbers. It is reflected in dry and degraded landscapes restored through sustainable natural resource management, in women stepping confidently into leadership roles through self-help groups and grassroots institutions, in children returning to safe and dignified learning environments, and in rural youth discovering pride, purpose, and opportunity through skills and livelihoods.

GVT follows a human-first and integrated development approach that brings together environmental restoration, water security, health, sanitation, education, gender equality, livelihood promotion, and institutional strengthening. These interventions are designed not as isolated efforts, but as interconnected pathways that build resilience at the household and community levels.

Aligned with all Sustainable Development Goals, GVT believes that sustainable change is possible only when people and nature thrive together. Central to this vision is the strengthening of local institutions and partnerships that ensure continuity, accountability, and ownership beyond project timelines. Through collaboration, compassion, and resilience, GVT continues to work towards a more just, inclusive, and humane future—one where development leaves no one behind and communities are equipped to lead their own journey of transformation.
