Holistic Rural Development Program

GraminVikas Trust was selected this village in 2017 to implement Holistic Rural Development Program, Funded by HDFC Bank under CSR.

Pagi Maniben Sukrabhai was selected by GraminVikas Trust / VDC for establishing and providing poultry rearing unit. Maniben is living in Pagi Faliya, Nani Zanjari village. She is illiterate and her son is doing labour work in local area for livelihood. After getting training and capacity building under the HRDP Project and provided 8 hen and 2 cocks of Kadaknath breed in December 2017 as income generation for resource poor family. The main aim of this activity is to diversify the income source.

Through Kadaknath Poultry Unit, at present she received 220 eggs, in which 140 eggs are sold out @ Rs. 8 / egg and earned Rs. 1120/- and remaining 80 eggs are for chick’s rearing. Through rearing of poultry increase the nos. of birds which dropped 70 male chicks and 13 female chicks, at present she is having 83 birds in the poultry unit. Further she also sold 6 hens @ Rs. 833 / hen and earned Rs. 5,000/-, so overall her earning between Rs. 600 to 700 / month.

By adopting poultry rearing Maniben earned additional income to meet out day to day expenses such as food, medicine, travelling etc. She gave thanks to HDFC Bank and GVT to provide sustainable source of income for her family.
