Good Harvest With Low Input Cost

Sukhdev Dhruv is a marginal Tribal farmer of Banjari Village having 0.50 acre of land. He has three family members including his wife and mother. A vermin compost pit has been established in his backyard by GVT through HRDP project 2018. After preparation of vermin compost, he has not used any fertilizer from last two years in his land and is getting good harvest with low input cost.  He is doing Swarna variety of paddy with two seasons and getting 20 quintals of paddy in a year. In the village GVT has prepared 35 no’s of Vermin compost and the practice of Sukdev motivated other farmers to avoid use of chemical fertilizer.
