STITCHING QUEEN

Smt. Parvati Devi, a housewife is a resident of Badauna was spending her life by taking care of her 3 children with an unemployed husband and was struggling for bread and butter. She was somewhat aware about stitching and was doing repairing and mending work of neighbours’ clothes. In the meantime, she made contact with GVT – KVK to learn something and improve her living. She was suggested to attend a training programme for skill development in stitching. She attended the training programme on the Stitching of Applique successfully and owned herself a sewing machine.

After getting training she has been in contact with GVT – KVK regularly. She started preparing various decorative items like bags, wall hangings, letter box etc. She prepared it by using different techniques and variety of materials to attract the buyers. GVT – KVK, Godda is supporting her technically. She is preparing 90-100 letter box, wall hangings every month. The total cost of her expenditure is Rs. 7,500/- per month while the gross return is Rs. 15,000/- per month. Her net profit is Rs. 7,500/-month after paying all her bills. Smt. Parvati Devi’s product has a huge demand among the people because of which now she is selling her product at various local markets.
