Marching Ahead with Women Power in Jal Jeevan Mission

Gramin Vikas Trust (GVT), as the Implementation Support Agency (ISA) for the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), celebrated International Women’s Day on 8^th March, 2025 across villages in Baghpat and Hapur Districts, U.P. The event focused on empowering women by promoting their active role in the Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs). Through focused group discussions, leadership storytelling, and village meetings, women were encouraged to participate in the planning and monitoring of JJM activities. The initiative not only honored women’s contribution to water sustainability but also positioned them as decision-makers in grassroots water governance.
