Providing livelihood support through promoting and development of water harvesting structure in villages is one of the major interventions done under ADMI project Bankura District, West Bengal. The main objective of the intervention is to increase the income of the farmers through promotion of improved variety of seed, latest technology and use of developed water bodies. The activity was initiated with formation of Water User Association in the villages.
Abunaser Mandala is a marginal farmer “associated with Mandal Pukur water User Association” from Punisol Village under Onda Block of Bankura District West Bengal. He has a 1 hectare of land vegetable cultivation is being practices by utilisation of water harvesting structure constructed through ADMI project. He Made a net profit of Rs. 35000/- in four months only while his earnings from the same land was not good.
