Devabhai

Devabhai is a farmer of Bhutaradi Village. Generally, he cultivated Maize in Kharif season and Wheat and vegetables in Rabi season. During the interaction with Village Watershed Committee, Devabhai knew the benefits of cultivation of Marigold cultivation. He was ready for cultivation of Marigold and getting technical training regarding the cultivation through Krishi Vigyan Kendra with the help of GVT. Under Climate Proofing Project of NABARD, VWC has provided seeds and various inputs to him for the cultivation of Marigold. He cultivated Marigold in 0.05 ha. land and prepared Garland / Mala etc. During the festival like Navaratri, Diwali he got high returns by selling the Mala. He sold Mala in local market at the rate of Rs. 20/- per mala and earned approx. Rs. 300 / day. He earned total Rs. 25,000/- in last season. If he cultivated Maize in his field, he received only Rs. 2,000/-. He is very happy from flower cultivation program and committed to continue the floriculture in future seasons.
